Cafe MS Smag is named in memory of Esbjerg's local historical explorer Martin Spangsberg, who was part of Vitus Bering's expeditions in the 1700s.

The cafe's menu and DNA has been prepared with inspiration and love for Denmark and the sea that surrounds the place, and Cafe MS Smag takes pride in using local Danish ingredients to reduce CO2 footprint and to support the Danish producers.

At Cafe MS Smag, they strive to make everything from scratch with good craftsmanship and with a focus on the Danish culinary experience.

The cafe is at the forefront when it comes to fish and fishing and in this connection only uses MSC certified fish in season, which are sustainably caught and which have a positive effect on the marine environment.

Cafe MS Smag deals with the local fishmongers who sell fish caught in the North Sea.
